Bathroom tiling trends of 2020

Throughout 2020 we have seen a number of tiling trends. But which were the most popular for bathrooms? And why were so many people choosing to follow these trends and patterns? Well, here at Tiles 2 Go, we are Preston’s leading tiling experts. As a result, we have produced this guide to the most definitive bathroom tiling trends of 2020.

What were the biggest bathroom tiling trends of 2020?

  • Marble effect tiles-Marble effect tiles were big this year for bathrooms of all sizes, in both contemporary and traditional bathrooms. But why? Well, marble effect tiles have the same visual appeal as real marble, but without the hassle of sealing and maintaining the awkward marble material. So for a luxurious effect, that is also practical, marble effect tiles are key.
  • Timber effect tiles- Similar to the marble effect tiles, timber effect tiles are also easier to maintain than actual hard wood. And they look just as good. As a result, timber effect tiles have been popular this year, for both floors and walls throughout bathrooms. The blue and grey tone timber effect tiles do tend to be slightly more popular.
  • Deep, rich tile colours- This year, many people have ditched the neutral tiles, in favor of deep, rich colours like burgundy, purples and blues in the bathroom. These deep colours are used just in small sections, to add visual interest, while the rest of the tiling remains plain or neutral. As a result, this has been very effective for shower areas and bathroom feature walls.
  • Textured tiles- Tiles with texture have also been a big trend this year. The textured tiles provide an attractive 3D effect that bring the tiles out of the space and really transform any room. Tactile and visual, these tiles are best used in small doses though, as too much can be overpowering.
