Plan

Make sure you know what tile layout you are going for before you begin. Once you lay your first tile, the next ones will have to fit. Check out our guide to tiling layouts, or ask us for some advice, before you get started.

Clean

Before you begin tiling, make sure the surface is clean. It should be free from dust, debris and dirt. This is essential for allowing the adhesive to stick directly onto the surface. Otherwise your tiling will be insecure.

Waterproofing

If you are tiling a bathroom or shower, you must apply the correct waterproofing. As a result, we recommend that you seek professional advice. Otherwise you could end up with structural damage and electircal faults caused by water damage.

Clean (again)

While tiling, make sure you clean off excess glue or grout before it dries. Once dry it will harden and be very difficult to remove. Clean the tiles as you go for a professional and stunning finish.
