Some homeowners automatically reach for the lino when installing a new flooring in the bathroom or kitchen. But vinyl isnt necessarily the best option. In fact, there are many reasons why tiles make a better flooring option in any room, not just the kitchen or bathroom. Here at Tiles 2 Go, we are Preston’s leading tiling experts. As a result, we have produced this guide to explain why tiles are better than vinyl.

Hard Wearing

Tiles are so much more durable and hard wearing than vinyl. Ceramic or porcelain tiles can be an investment that lasts around 20 years, and for porcelain, this jumps up to 100! Especially when professionally installed and well maintained.

While vinyl can be torn or ripped by moving heavy appliances or dropping sharp objects, floor tiles are almost impenetrable in comparison. And, even if one of your tiles chips or cracks, you only have to replace the single tile, not the whole flooring.

In addition, tiles resist temperature changes, and are impervious when treated with waterproof coating, and the correct grout is used. This makes them a much better choice for your floors than lino or vinyl that will wear and tear relatively quickly.

Stylish

Tiles are available in such a huge range that there is sure to be something that suits every taste and every style. In fact, the choice of tiles for colour, finish, pattern and style is now almost limitless. In contrast, there is not as much choice for lino flooring

Easier to clean

A quick once over with a mop or a sponge and your tiles will be gleaming like new. They are easy to maintain and easy to clean, and will retain their appeal throughout their lifetime. Whatever they have to tackle, be it muddy paw prints, muddy boots, spills and stains, tiles can simply be cleaned up again. Lino and vinyl on the other hand, can experience lasting staining.
